My Students

Famous musician Sting said,"Most of the rules in society tend to restrict creativity to a safe level." Well, with this project, we will explore the world of creativity with a lesson about Mexico. The students will develop an appreciation for the values and culture of the Mexican people.

I teach at an elementary school that is full of children, who are open to new experiences.

My students appreciate lessons that are hands-on and exciting. A majority of my students are from a background of poverty. This doesn't limit their ability to learn though. This only makes them more eager. I want my students to have the supplies that are needed, so most of our materials are given from my pockets.

My Project

I am requesting the tools, supplies, and materials needed for an interactive and creative lesson about Mexico. The use of the requested materials will help students construct their very own artwork, showing their knowledge about the country of Mexico. With the use of engagement, I will be able to assess a child's learning by allowing them to apply given questions to an experience of his or her own. Comprehension is essential.

This project will actively engage my students.

Students who are engaged and motivated can positively change a school environment. With students now facing rigorous testing processes, it is useful for students to be as active as possible in the classroom. Lessons about Social Studies and Reading shouldn't always come from worksheets and textbooks. Engaged learners have the potential to improve performance and attendance, which in turn could positively improve their grades.
