My Project

This school year my amazing students have made great strides in expanding their knowledge in Elementary Music. Our biggest challenge moving forward is that we do not have classroom sets of instruments for all students to have the chance to explore our different musical activities. It is my goal to continue to reach new levels of learning by having more musical instruments for them to explore so that we can also create more amazing performance opportunities for the student each year. As we grow our musical experiences I want us to grow in our knowledge with new cultures because African drums are deeply embedded in the traditions, ceremonies, and daily lives of many African societies. Studying them fosters respect for and understanding of diverse cultures, helping students become more globally minded.
