This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We invite you to support our innovative educational project, Cultivating Sustainability: Hydroponics for Education and Nutrition, at our Title I-funded school. Our goal is to install a hydroponics system and garden that will serve as a dynamic educational tool for our students, while also providing organic food options and supporting our growing veterinary science program.

Our project aims to educate students about the principles of sustainability, focusing on the benefits of hydroponic farming.

Through hands-on learning, students will gain valuable insights into modern agricultural practices, environmental stewardship, and resource management.

By cultivating a hydroponics garden, we will provide our students with fresh, organic vegetables. This will not only promote healthier eating habits but also demonstrate the importance of sustainable food production in everyday life.

The produce harvested from our garden will be used to feed our veterinary science animals, including four guinea pigs and two gerbils. This integration of resources highlights the interconnectedness of ecosystems and emphasizes the importance of responsible animal care.

With your generous support, we aim to expand our program to accommodate more animals and offer our students a broader range of learning opportunities. By investing in this project, you are helping to foster a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who understand the significance of sustainable practices.
