My Project

Global novels and literary classics hold immense potential for student connection and broader understanding of the world, so reading shouldn't be limited to a select group of learners, and teacher assessments of their learning can stretch to include more than traditional essays. That's why I want every student of mine to have the opportunity to showcase their comprehension and insights in imaginative ways.

I am reaching out for your support in funding some classroom supplies that will enable students to demonstrate their learning through various projects that foster deep engagement with literature.

With your help, we can give students of various intelligences a chance to express their understanding through art. They will use binders to fashion “mixtape albums,” customize T-shirts for sale in a boutique, and craft sculptures for museum display—all in response to reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Through hands-on projects, they will demonstrate rich connections to their reading.

I need your help to foster a more inclusive learning environment that also upholds literary standards. Project responses like these invite everyone to come to the learning experience with equity and offers creative assessment options where every student can shine. Projects invite meaningful discussions among peers who struggle with written verbal skills. These projects will invite deeper connections to the course curriculum through artful expressions.

Your contribution will make a significant difference in creating dynamic learning experiences for my students.

Let's honor the diverse talents of young learners. Let's spark their imagination and support scholarly pursuits that include assessments through project-based learning.
