This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In a 4K classroom, we spend lots of time on the rug. The rug is where we participate in gross motor activities and it is also the place where we sit for our whole-group math and literacy lessons. This year, not all of my students have been able to sit on the rug safely so cube chairs will allow them to engage in our lessons while helping them maintain control of their bodies.
The cube chairs will help my students stay in their space and give them a secure place to sit that is just their size.
This year, my classroom has several nonverbal students who could use the physical presence of a cube chair as a reminder to keep their bodies under control.
