Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a sub-separate classroom that serves students with a range of learning, sensory, and emotional needs. For many of my students, the environment plays a major role in their ability to focus, self-regulate, and engage in learning. We are currently using old, worn cube chairs. This project will provide new cube chairs in calming, neutral colors that are both functional and sensory-friendly. These chairs are ideal for our classroom because they offer different seating positions and help create a peaceful, predictable learning space. The muted tones reduce visual overstimulation, which is especially important for students who may be easily overwhelmed by bright colors or chaotic surroundings.
Having sturdy, calming seating options will give my students a safe and supportive space where they can focus, feel comfortable, and participate more fully in classroom activities.
Your support will help transform our environment into one that truly meets their needs.
Thank you for helping make our classroom more accessible, calming, and inclusive for all learners.
