My students need alternative seating. The chairs and bench will allow the students to sit to work with a clipboard, or to use the chair as a table.

My Students
Sitting at a desk is overrated. It makes sense for taking a test, but not in an active elementary classroom. Children need to be ready to learn and work in a variety of environments. I would like to provide them with choices in where they learn.
My students are active and energetic six and seven year olds.
Our school has all of the "normal" activities (pe, music, library, art, math, reading) and has some not as normal actives. Our students also care for a garden, greenhouse, barn and animals (calf, sheep, chickens).
My Project
The cube chairs and bench will be used as seating in a variety of situations. When the children are grouped together, the chairs will be used to sit in. Later during independent learning time, the chair could be flipped and used as a table. By giving the children choices and options, they will be able to find out how they best learn and work.
Donations to this project will add color and alternate seating options to make my classroom child friendly.
Children learn best in environments where there is choice and these chairs will be great for allowing children to decided how they want to sit to learn and complete their work.
