This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all delightful children with various disabilities, but each one has a smile that will melt your heart. I work with children diagnosed with autism, cognitive impairment, communication impairment, and specific learning disability.
My students are all a joy to work with, each having their own strengths and weaknesses.
Some of my students are verbal, others communicate with gestures, pictures, and some sign. I love to help them find their way to communicate. I love to see the glitter in their eye when they make an achievement or make their needs and wants known. I love to be the one to provide them with what it is that they desire when they ultimately communicate!
My Project
I have the cube chair table top but not the cube chair. This helps children be grounded, helps with attention and gives them a table top for materials when working on tasks. It allows you to sit face to face with children and provides boundaries as well. The cube chair can be used for little children and taller children because you just flip the chair upside down. This will help when I provide therapy for my children with autism and other attention difficulties. The storage drawers will help with toy storage
