My students are 5 and 6 years old. They are just at the beginning of their school adventure! Right from the first day of school, I teach them how to follow a routine and organize their belongings/supplies. Our classroom has enough cubbies for 16 students. This year I will have 18 students in my classroom. I would like to ensure that each of my students will have enough room to keep their backpacks, hats, gloves, etc. The extra cubbies will allow all of my students to have their own space.
My goal for this project is to help create a welcoming and engaging school community.
These cubbies will give my students a feeling of security and belonging in our classroom family. By providing each student with their own cubby, they will develop a sense of personal space. The cubbies will also help to keep our classroom neat and organized.
Most importantly I want my students to feel welcome and comfortable in our classroom. A special place to keep their personal items, as well as, to keep everything neat and organized in our classroom.
