This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
First Graders just love having their own special place to put their things! My students are learning how to organize themselves and share space with others. A set of new cubbies would help them do that in a fun and exciting way.
My class of first graders is at an underfunded, high-needs school in an urban setting.
We work with what we have, however, my students deserve the best and whenever possible, I try to find resources to make their learning experience as enjoyable as possible.
My Project
On behalf of my students, I am requesting two sets of cubbies (twelve cubbies each) so that each child can have his own space. Having new items, something as simple as a cubby to call his own can make the difference. My students will start by learning how to organize their personal items brought from home and hopefully grow from there.
Understanding how to negotiate space with others is a skill to be learned.
I can take the positive experience that they have with their cubbies and build on it to enrich their learning. With your generosity, this seemingly small resource can make a huge impact for years to come. Please consider supporting my amazing students!
