it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the teacher of bright, creative, and resilient individuals. My students have a great love for learning, that makes teaching so enjoyable.
My school has over 25 countries represented in it.
My school is also a Title I school and 47% of our population is English Language Learners. My students live in neighborhoods where poverty and crime are the norm. My students face numerous struggles each day. They come from families that are not always able to provide supplies or academic assistance.
Given all of the challenges my students face each day my hardworking fourth graders comes to school every day with a smile on their faces and love of learning in their hearts.
It is very simple; my students love school. School is their safe place. It is more than just the place where they come to learn. It is the place where they are loved! In many ways, my students are typical fourth graders. They are full of wonder, joy, and laughter. They love being creative, books, music and technology. Life is not always easy for these kids, but they have learned that hard work and perseverance pays off. It is an honor to be their teacher.
My Project
Discovery and exploring means learning to be independent. The routines of a fourth grade class allow children the safety to learn and find their way through an emerging world. Having a special place to return to each day and keep their tools, treasures and displays of talent makes all difference in their growth as learners.
Your donation will help my students have a spot, or a home base to keep their school supplies and work.
It will help start them on the road to being organized, and responsible. This might seem small, but this shelf is a big part of our classroom routine and the beginnings of developing the skills a fourth grader needs to learn to be an organized, and responsible citizen.
