This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I'd love to provide cubby storage for my students! Our classroom does not have any storage or space for students' backpacks, coats, and lunch boxes. We have managed to find some ways to store their personal items in different areas of the classroom so far this year. Since we are limited on space, it makes it difficult to be organized and have an efficient transition or welcoming learning environment.
Cubby storage would allow my students a space to store their personal items, which can provide organization to their learning space.
My goals for this project is for our morning routine to be shortened and be more efficient so they can focus themselves on their learning once they get inside the classroom. Overall, this project will help my students have a more organized and efficient learning space.
What makes my students special is that although they come from low-income households they are thriving in school. They spend most of their day with me and providing a warm and homey space in the classroom is essential for me to help them feel like I care for them and their learning, which of course I do!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
