This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, creative, and full of potential. Every day, they walk into the classroom eager to learn, despite the challenges they may face outside of school. What makes them special is their resilience, their enthusiasm for learning, and their drive to express themselves—especially through writing. With the addition of a computer for our Writing Center and Newspaper Club, these young writers will have access to a powerful tool that will support their growth and amplify their voices.

The computer will be used to help students draft, revise, and publish their work more efficiently.

It will give them access to word processing tools, collaborative writing platforms, and even opportunities to research and edit their own articles. These resources will not only elevate their writing skills but also teach them essential digital literacy competencies that are critical for their academic futures and beyond.

The goal of this project is to build student confidence, foster independence, and encourage creative expression. Whether they are reporting on school events for the newspaper or crafting narratives in writing centers, having access to technology will help them see themselves as authors, journalists, and scholars. This resource won’t just enhance their learning—it will help them see what's possible.
