Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a Family & Consumer Sciences teacher and teach classes in the Education & Training pathway. I also sponsor two Career & Technical Student Organizations, FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) and TSA (Technology Student Association). Our school is a Title I campus, so many of the students do not have access to resources that are typically available to higher socio-economic schools. Having access to these resources will allow my students to create high-quality projects that can compete with more affluent schools.
We need a heat press to use with a sublimation printer we were recently gifted.
Students in my Education & Training classes will use the heat press to create teacher-made materials, classroom decorations, bulletin boards, and gifts for students and teachers in their internship classes.
Students in the CTSOs will use the heat press to create their projects for competition, make items for fundraising, awards, and promotional materials. Having a heat press will allow my students to create high-quality materials for class and competitions, which will help them stand out from their competitors.
