My Project

I am requesting several picture frames for an upcoming art show that I will be planning and hosting at the school where I work as a math, science, yearbook, and art teacher. I am requesting frames of various sizes to display the student-submitted art that will be displayed at our art show. I know from personal experience, that a piece always looks so much better once it is in a frame and I would love to be able to frame all of my students' works for the art show. This art show is going to be more like a gala, where guests will be encouraged to dress up.

The goal of this project is to help my students feel like their art is special and worthy of being framed.

At this art show, the learners will also have an art sale. This will promote financial literacy because we will discuss how to price their art for the sale and the learners will have to process the transactions during the sale. The students will learn about gallery fees, as the school will keep 10% as a fundraiser. The student will receive the other 90%. The funds raised for the school will be used to pay for more art supplies for our elective class.

These students are special because they are all unique and clever. If you ask them to draw the same subject, you will receive 25 different amazing versions of the subject.This is a project that has been discussed with the administration at my school and I have been given the green light. All I have most of it all planned out. All I need is the students' artwork and the materials to make the show look good.
