My Project
I work with a diverse group of students in grades 6-8 who are learning about design thinking through units focusing on video game design, circuits, 3D design, and computer science.
My students learn the focus concept and then mentor their younger partners at our K-5 elementary school.
These materials will help to expand our access to materials to dive deeper into circuits and computer science through making. The Micro:Bit expansion kit will provide designers with more ways to integrate different robotic components into their designs. The acrylic and colored cardboard will be used on our laser cutter to design the different computer science games for our arcade experience for our younger learners. My desire is to have add on pieces to our circuit and computer science unit so that designers can create beyond the device.
