My Project

Shape academic journeys by funding calculators for my students! Calculators can deepen students' engagement with math by allowing them to explore complex problems without being hindered by manual calculations. This fosters a better grasp of mathematical concepts and encourages curiosity. By handling routine computations, calculators free up cognitive resources, enabling students to focus on problem-solving strategies and critical thinking skills. Calculators are an essential part of our classroom. Students need them in order to complete many of the assignments in grades six and seven. They are allowed to use them on parts of the state test. I want them to be comfortable with how to operate the calculator and use it to compute math problems.

Unfortunately, our district did not have the funding to order calculators for the 2024/2025 school year, and I was in great need of them.

This is why I am requesting enough calculators for my entire class of twenty-seven students. I teach three sections of math, and my largest class can go up to thirty students. Teaching approximately 70 students a day, these calculators get pretty beat up, plus they are a few years old.
