Crunching Numbers, Building Futures!

Help me give my students large, sturdy calculators for our life skills math class! These tools will empower them to confidently navigate budgeting, taxes, grocery shopping, and other essential financial tasks.

My Project

Access to these calculators will provide my students with the confidence to apply their math skills in real-world settings. Whether they are grocery shopping, planning a budget, or preparing for employment, these tools will empower them to become more independent and financially responsible.

Our learning focus is on functional life skills, preparing students for gainful employment and greater independence in their daily lives.

Many of my students learn best through hands-on practice, visual support, and tools designed for accessibility.

While they are eager to develop financial literacy skills, many struggle with traditional calculators due to small buttons, hard-to-read displays, or fragile designs that don’t hold up to frequent use. Providing them with sturdy, large-button calculators will help eliminate barriers to learning and allow them to focus on mastering essential math skills.

Our life skills math curriculum includes real-world applications such as 1) budgeting for rent, groceries, and utilities, 2) understanding taxes and insurance costs, 3) comparison shopping and calculating discounts and 4) managing income from paychecks and benefits.

The calculators we are requesting will be used daily in class to reinforce these concepts, ensuring our students have the tools they need to succeed. Their durability and accessible design will make learning more engaging and frustration-free.

Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to equipping our students with the skills they need for success beyond the classroom. Thank you for considering a donation to our project!
