My Students
I will be teaching 7-13 students in a special education classroom who have varying special needs such as autism, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities as well as adaptive and social-emotional needs. The students are from diverse backgrounds from low-income neighborhoods.
Our students are always learning and growing and by mid afternoon, they are ready for snacks!
My school does not have a budget for classroom snacks. We receive some fruit part of the week, but many times the students do not like whatever we are given.
In addition, some of our students are on a bus for 1 hour and 15 minutes and arrive home very hungry and grumpy. Please help my students have snacks to give them energy to finish out the day strong!
My Project
My students are tired as the day goes on. At around 1 or 2PM, they are losing focus and energy. Having a snack is important to give them energy to finish the day strong and make learning more effective and efficient. These students already have barriers to learning due to disabilities and most have trouble focusing. Giving these kids snacks helps eliminate one more barrier to learning! Help me help them learn and grow as they deserve to! They already have so much going on, this help will definitely make a difference in these students lives and learning!
