My Project
As a Reading Specialist, with four interventionalists on my team, we work to increase students' knowledge and confidence in reading via small-group instruction. We work with grades K-5. In a small group setting, we're able to truly see our students' personalities shine. This kind of setting also allows us to identify individual needs and make attempts at closing identified gaps.
Another one of my responsibilities is that of Building Test Coordinator.
It’s my job to facilitate testing schedules, compliance, and student accommodations. Several of our young learners receive support via a basic function calculator for large computations and checking answers. Our current supply of calculators is barely functional. They are several years old and when broken are better served by tossing in the trash can than paying for repair.
This grant includes 30 student calculators and a storage case. This project would help improve students' success in the classroom and while taking standardized tests.
