Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a low-income Title I school and are limited in resources and funding. My school demographic population is comprised of 97.6% Hispanic students, and 98.8% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. Most of our students are struggling academically. Having the opportunity to be involved in sports for many of our students is a healthy and positive outlet for them. These students are excited to participate in middle school sports, are eager to come to school daily, and are ready to give 110% of their effort to maintain the 2.0 required GPA to participate in athletics.
My students are enthusiastic about fitness and competitive sports and ready for the challenge.
