Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Title I, level I (lowest 25%) Specific Learning Disabled (SLD), Emotionally/Behavioral Disabled (EBD) high school students are in ICU! Yes, some students are enrolled in Intensive Reading Plus! More than 90% of the student population qualifies for free and/or reduced-price lunch. Approximately 80% of the students live in single-family homes.
These 9th and 10th-grade remedial readers attend a Title I school.
There is a negative stigma to Intensive Reading or Intensive Reading Plus classes. Some have Individual Education Plans, while others really struggle to remain proficient in English and Math. For these students inclusion into positive worlds will not only help to close the achievement gap but put much needed academic confidence into the hands of students.
My Project
The cheer team needs a little motivation to improve, We seem to have a few issues being on time, being focused while learning cheers dances and stunts. Therefore, these croc slides which by the way make you cool in high school will motivate the cheer team to improve there stunts and learn their routines.
Amazingly, the jibitz really improve the students morale and Pep Rally and Halftime performances as the lead the school spirit tempo.The cheerleaders incorporate throwing the jibitz into the crowd which actually does something for the cheerleaders.
It is amazing to watch.
The team adds to their performance by invoking the home crowd. This simple act of giving is captured by the pictures taken and posted on the schools social media pages. The crocs help the cheer teams over all foot health as many have foot issues due to not wearing shoes and or incorrect sizing.
