My students need a rug. Our district health and safety regulations do not permit the rug I have been using because it doesn't meet fire safety code. And we need books/cds.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our District Health and Safety Inspector will not allow any rugs that do not meet fire safety code. Therefore I don't have a rug to begin the school year. A rug is the center of my classroom. We begin and end our day on the rug. It is essential to have a rug to begin our school year.
My students are in first grade.
The public school I teach at is in a high poverty community. My students deserve a beautiful rug to gather together to read, sing, dance, and learn on. Most first graders cannot sit still for very long. So we use the rug to move and groove throughout the day!
My Project
Project Criss Cross Applesauce: We need a rug for our first grade classroom. The rug in a first grade classroom has to have a space for each child to sit criss cross applesauce. The rug that I am requesting has just that. The rug is beautiful with vibrant color and letters. Each child will have a space to themselves as they sit and listen to songs or stories. And we need books/cds.
Project Cross Cross Applesauce needs your support!
Please help provide a rug for our classroom. It would make a world of a difference. We need a place to sit and listen to stories. We need a place to gather to sing and dance. We need a place to sit and listen to books and tape. We need to have a place to sit criss cross applesauce. Please help make our school year begin with a new rug. Thank you
