My Students

My kids are amazing - this is why I do what I do! I love seeing them tackle new, exciting, challenging tasks. My class fosters their learning and growing!!

Our labs study crime scene type evidence.

Like real criminal investigators, we study hair, fibers, glass breaks, human behavior, finger prints, burn patterns, and more. The measurements, close observations, and demand for inferred logic done in teams mimics real life application.

The kids fall in love with math and science in a cool way, so maybe they will want to continue their education in these fields.

My Project

In today’s society where TV shows have glorified the work of our crime scene/forensic experts, my class uses the students’ excitement and intrigue to show them the right techniques to solve crimes while using math and science to get there.

By donating to our project, you will improve and expand our lab activities and increase excitement in math and science.

My students will look at blood spatter and bullet trajectory examples to calculate angles and what occurred with each activity. With the Electronic Digital Vernier Caliper, the Digital Level Box Protractor Angle Finder, and the Carson LumiLoupe 10X Power Magnifier, each student will EACH be able to find the angles and look more closely at each piece of evidence.

My goal is for each student to explore then come together in teams to share ideas and finalize answers. I want them ALL involved in the process.
