Help me give my students microscopes to have the opportunity to see the micro world first hand. Microscopes with digital screens help them share their discoveries.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a gifted teacher, I work with students that qualify as gifted and students that are bright and talented. While all students benefit from hands-on learning, these students advance through content very quickly and need high amounts of novelty and fewer repetitions to master new skills. These students are often neglected in general education classrooms because they "can take care of themselves." Because of this, they often become bored with school.
One of the things I enjoy most about my students is that they require me to regularly innovate and exercise my creativity.
For example, we just completed a week of crime scene investigation and the students were able to dust for fingerprints, spray for blood, and ruthlessly question teacher/suspects.
My Project
These items would have been instrumental when students were comparing hair samples and fingerprints during our Crime Scene Investigation unit. Moving forward, my students will be using these microscopes to examine the structures of fungus and mold (that they create). We will be engaging in an investigation of the fungi kingdom, a massive and overlooked branch of life that is not covered in typical state standards. Students will also endeavor to create a small mushroom farm and will need microscopes to record the growth of their products. Seeing these life-forms firsthand will be transformative for many of the students, who are often top of their class, and reinforce that there is much of the world they still do not understand that is worthy of wonder.
We will also be using these microscopes to study the structures of insects.
This investigation will catalyze inspiration as they invent functional robots that are inspired by nature in our spring unit.
