My Students
Do you love crime shows where you watch and try to figure out who did it? Remember the joy you felt if you were right?
I teach eighth grade General Science in a suburban middle school to my regular classes and an Earth Science Regents course to the advanced students.
I also teach an inclusion class with another teacher where there are special education students mixed with general education students.
My Project
I am asking for several forensic science class kits that can be reusable year after year as my final culminating topic at the end of the school year. With these kits, students can reinforce their knowledge about DNA, chemistry, human anatomy, physics, and problem-solving. These activities can help promote critical thinking skills using evidence as they solve the crimes and identify their suspect.
By acting like forensic scientists themselves, it will make learning about science even more real for students as they see what they learn can have real life applications in the world today.
