Chirp, chirp! That's the sound of students throughout our school using a Cricut machine to create bully prevention posters to display throughout our hallways.
Students in our school are from a low-income area.
Most of them qualify for the free lunch program. Although bullying is not a major issue in our rural town, we certainly raise awareness about the issue. There are around 670 students in my school in grades K-8.
My Project
I am requesting a Cricut Expression machine to put in our teacher's lounge. Teachers and responsible students will use the modern die-cut machine to create posters that raise awareness about bullying and cyber bullying. We currently have an outdated die-cut machine that is too heavy and complicated for the students to use. Not to mention, dangerous! A Cricut machine will be the perfect solution to create vivid displays throughout our school. I am also requesting a Bullying in School book from AKJ books so that teachers can implement this resource in their classrooms. Bully Prevention is a joined effort and I would like to get my whole school involved with a poster decorating contest.
Your support would be impacting my whole school.
Our rural school could use some "jazzing up". I would love to provide opportunities for the 670 students in my school to be creative and work together to achieve a common goal.
More than half of students from low‑income households
