This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a Title I school and teach Intellectually Disabled and Autistic students (grades 9th-12th) that are enrolled in resource/CTE classes on a modified curriculum track. These courses focus on basic academic skills in their core classes, independent living skills, organizational skills, and career related skills throughout the school day (Block Schedule). Despite their daily challenges, my students are excited and willing to learn. They enjoy hands-on activities and are motivated to learn vocational skills that will assist with preparation for work in the future.

The Cricut Joy cutting system accessories will provide my students the opportunity to continue to gain vocational skills in the classroom in connection with the Design Space Software.

The Cricut cutting system will enable my students to explore technological skills and create one of a kind projects through the use of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) based lessons.

We plan on using the Cricut cutting system to create projects for school activities as well as fundraisers to boost moral as well as school spirit. By donating to this project, you will facilitate the implementation of vocational skills as well as academic success to prepare my special need students for the workforce in the future.
