My students are English Language Learners who attend a suburban elementary school in Washington. They come from various cultural, linguistic, and economic backgrounds, many of them receive free or reduced-price lunch, and many parents struggle to provide basic necessities for their kids.
My students might speak different languages at home, but share a love of learning at school.
They want to be successful and strive to do their best. My mission is to help them achieve their goals with the resources and support they need.
My Project
My dream is to create an interactive student-centered classroom where my students will create meaningful products to personalize their learning environment and to grow ownership in their learning by creating interactive bulletin boards, manipulatives, charts, and displays.
Exploring and celebrating our different cultures is important to us.
Cricut Maker will allow us to create signs and posters in multiple languages to create a visually stimulating learning environment where students feel confident, supported, and excited to learn.
This tool is so versatile and can be used to support different learning styles and needs of our students. Students will expand their language abilities and demonstrate their understanding of new concepts by using different media, such as posters, 3D models, and cut-outs. My newcomers will benefit from visual cues and labels, while advanced students could use this tool for collaborative projects to boost their language skills and increase their imagination.
