My Students
We have a campus that is 100% Title I and 97% economically disadvantaged. My students have very little prior knowledge and skills to connect with. Many of the concepts and skills that come naturally to others my students, have trouble understanding do to their social environment.
Despite their struggles they are the most uplifting, fun-loving and dedicated children you will every meet.
Nothing breaks their spirits and they are determined to make the best out of whatever situation they are dealt.
My Project
My students need to see examples of the lessons we learn come to life. In an age of technology and the world wide web when things are in black and white they just don't touch the minds of the students. We would like to build a classroom of visuals that students can see and touch. Visuals that will not only help the struggling students but our Autism population of students as well. We want to build a classroom of visual color and tactile elements that will help the 21st century economically disadvantaged learners strive in today's fast paced world. Please help us with a cri-cut machine to help us build the visuals we need to be successful in the real world. We have a good group of kids...please help us be GREAT! Because of the devastation of Hurricane Harvey students felt a little defeated, however, they never missed an opportunity to learn and be successful.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
