This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
On a daily basis I work with students in order to sharpen their math skills. I've noticed that many students, especially those in the upper grades, fail to see the connection between the math we are doing in class, and its real world applications.
The Silhouette Cameo will allow me to incorporate project based learning, financial literacy, and real world applications.
By allowing my students to create a product of their choice (t-shirt, decal, mug, etc.) they will be asked to come up with a marketing plan, which includes calculating the cost v. the profit. They will also need to calculate proportions to make sure that their design will fit on the intended surface. The Silhouette Cameo with allow students to create a protype of their chosen desgin/project and see it come to life.
