Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a group of 48 second graders who are eager and excited to learn. These kids come from a variety of backgrounds and they all have very individual learning needs. Some kids are ELL, some struggle with reading or math, and some need to be challenged. These kids spent the last three months of first grade doing distance learning at home, and are now starting second grade in distance learning mode.
My Project
I want to give my students the opportunity to be creative with a Cricut machine. My students would be able to create their own designs and words for art projects, book projects, reports, Christmas gifts, and so much more. We always do an All About Me project at the beginning of the year. My students would be able to have individualized clip art and words printed for this project. We also do a big dinosaur report at the end of every year. My students would be able to print things to go in their dioramas to make their projects very unique and creative. I would also be able to use a Cricut to create engaging and welcoming bulletin boards for my students. These are just a couple of examples of how a Cricut would be used in my classroom. The possibilities are endless!
