This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are diverse free thinkers. They are the most resilient group of students I know and many of them have faced adverse life experiences. It is their right to receive a meaningful, fun, engaging and hands-on education to explore their special interests and engage in problem-solving/creativity. Receiving LEGO bricks would be an amazing opportunity. The LEGO bricks can be used across a wide array of content areas for a large number of special projects. They can be used creatively, they can be used to engage in hands-on activities in ELA and mathematics and they can be used to create replicas in history. LEGO bricks provide a fun and engaging way to introduce topics to students using hands-on materials and move students away from being passive learners.
My students can create projects that align with our Global Awareness Magnet School through their use of LEGO bricks.
For example, they can design prototypes, and create replicas of habitats.
