This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a small school with a big heart. Our school is a Title I school in a middle to low class neighborhood, many of our students are immigrants if not first generation Americans from working families.
Matisse once said, "Creativity Takes Courage" and every day in our art room we make sure to be courageous!
My students are brave adventurers that have no fear in creating fabulous masterpieces. In our art room we strive to be creative EVERY DAY!
My Project
The donations to this project will make an enormous difference with our students' learning because they will be able to explore a different medium they have not had the chance to explore yet. The vast majority of the students will not have the opportunity to explore ceramics unless it's done in a school setting. The students will have the opportunity to explore ceramics by creating a variety of projects with the supplies.
We will create pinch pots, coil pots, masks and well, as much as we can while the clay lasts!
I know my students will definitely enjoy this medium while creating great masterpieces inspired by masters such as Matisse, Picasso and Warhol, just to name a few.
