Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning can’t stick until it makes sense. By providing young learners with a variety of learning tools to help them make sense of the concepts they are learning, you can give these students the gift of knowledge. As these young students explore the science and engineering behind motion, and the ideas of sorting, counting and patterning, the play they engage in will help to solidify these ideas and help them become building blocks of further math and science explorations.

Providing very young learners with opportunities to learn through play will help them develop counting, computation and classification skills, pattern making and identification skills, observation, evaluation, reasoning, motor skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and cooperation.

The batteries in this project will power the cars that move across the flexible race tracks. Students will work together to build, modify, reroute, change, move and create race tracks in different ways, and various shapes. Their teamwork and cooperation will inspire critical skills needed to build the creativity and imagination necessary for any engineer.

The pop-beads, jewelry making kits, will help to develop the student's math skills, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination while cultivating their creativity and imagination. Through play they will have opportunities to count, add, subtract, compare and contrast qualities, sort and build patterns while participating in the engaging act of creating unique pieces of jewelry.
