My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to
learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
I know that I can offer them a future that they can excel in. I want them to know that I believe in them and they can do anything.
I teach at a Title I school in Colorado where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and 75 percent lunch. My school is also lucky to be a part of the "Backpack Program", which provides food for students on the weekend.
I teach 1st and 2nd grade literacy. Many of my students are below grade level in reading so they have to be put onto READ Plans. I work hard to help these kids be on grade level by the end of the year. My goal is to help them not only learn how to read, but learn to embrace the joy of reading. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
First and second graders love to create pictures using markers, crayons and paint! My students use these materials every day as an essential tool to help foster their learning! In our classroom, play dough becomes a new art project, water colors become a masterpiece and new crayons and markers bring a smile to their faces while they create exciting pictures!
Your donation for crayons, markers, water paint and play dough will help my students have the supplies they need to paint, draw and play!
Last year, our school started exploring Project Based Learning. Students work together in small groups to solve a problem that they have been presented with. To help students make their projects come alive, it is essential to have plenty of materials on hand.
Thank-you for helping my students be able to make their learning come alive with art!
