Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a Middle School Art teacher, I come across hundreds of kids from many walks of life and differing interests. In my 15 years plus of teaching, I have noticed an increase of amazing young artists trying to show the world through their eyes. Unfortunately due to household expenses and inflation, most students can not afford to buy the supplies needed to be successful in class. I myself, have spent thousands of dollars through the years providing my students with classroom supplies in an attempt to create a great learning environment, but its still not enough.
My students are currently working on campus/ community murals as well as learning and expanding their drawing skills.
I am also introducing crochet, embroidery, how to use a sewing machine and follow patterns. The supplies on this list will help facilitate their experience. Students are extremely excited to learn new concepts and will appreciate any help we can get!
