Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my elementary music classroom, we strive to bring music to life through various tools and musical concepts. Students sing, play instruments, and move around the room. However, what happened with COVID-19 and the inability to share materials is still a factor. Providing enough materials that we can each use our own is why this project is so important. Additionally, encouraging students to be creative requires them to make their own choices with their own materials!
My students need scarves and ribbons to explore creativity in musical movement.
I need more ribbons and a parachute to allow each student to participate. Although COVID seems less of a problem, the lessons we learned about maintaining as safe an environment as possible are still valid.
Creative movement is a proven way to keep learners engaged. Props spark the imagination and can be used to explore many musical concepts. These activities also offer outlets to release healthy physical and emotional stress. Our program promotes healthy activities through music, singing, movement, and playing. We strive to elevate the minds of all learners every day in every aspect of ARTS.
Thank you in advance for supporting our students' educational opportunities through this project.
