This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a first grade classroom in a high poverty area. My students are a very active and creative group.
My students struggle every day with a sense of personal boundaries. Some of it is their age and some of it is the situations they deal with each day. That is some of the reason they have problems with each other is that they don't have their own boundaries during our group learning time.
We need this rug to create calmness in our classroom because each child would have their own space to learn in during our group time together. While they are calm, they can be focused on their creativity and our creativity as a class. My students really need this rug. It would benefit them in so many ways.
Your donation will ensure that my students have a calmer place to learn from during our whole group time. Thank you.
