My job is amazing. I work with a wide range of students from a rainbow of families in a K-8 school. In my role, I enable creative projects for students to work on that require problem-solving. While we work on the projects we converse about life’s journey. Many students have been greatly impacted by the recent events in society and need a safe space to talk about life, talk about choices, as well as learn to build relationships with peers. The makers space is an area of choice and safety. Our group can use clay, create slime, make structures, and have great conversations all at the same time By having a makers space for crafts, gardening, and STEM projects, students can explore feelings, creativity, and problem-solving both physically and emotionally.
