My students need materials, dry-erase materials and book bags to store their reading and writing work, as well as, resources to help create and organize a writing center to inspire my young writers.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. S. Agosto's classroom raised $751

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Starting a new school year can be uneasy for some, but having the right tools can really help students get to a successful start! Our class needs your help in getting supplies to help support students' creative writing, as well as, help to liven up our writing center.
My second grade students are in an ICT, or Integrated Co-Teaching, class, which is part of the NYC public school system.
They live in a high poverty, multicultural community, and the majority of them live in shelters and come from low income families. Our class consist of two teachers - one general education teacher and one special education teacher, and a new batch of second grade scholars.
My Project
I have requested resources to help organize my students' reading and writing work, as well as, help establish a resource-rich writing center that will encourage independent writing creativity among my scholars.
Basic zip lock baggies have provided temporary means for my scholars to store their reading materials, but have been costly due to how often they need to be replaced. I have requested more durable, longer-lasting book pouches for in school use, and a separate set of book baggies for books they can borrow to read at home.
Dry Erase materials would greatly help replace our old, dried up markers that are often used for word study work, while dry erase sheets can help students use their desktops as personal, dry-erase boards.
Children learn best when they are given access to materials that will help them grow in their academic life.
Your generous donation will help create a writing center that will help encourage independence and growth in reading and writing, while helping them to access the tools needed to engage their learning.
