This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a primary special education classroom where my incredible students—many of whom are on the autism spectrum—shine brightest through creativity. They are imaginative, artistic, and love expressing themselves through drawing and coloring. For my nonverbal students especially, art is a powerful way to communicate and connect.
We are requesting crayons, construction paper, and crayon organizers so that each table in our classroom has easy access to the materials they need.
These supplies will not only support their academic work but also provide a calming, sensory-friendly outlet for self-regulation and emotional expression.
Your donation will help nurture their creativity, independence, and well-being. These materials will truly mean the world to our classroom—thank you for supporting our artists in the making!
