My Students
We are a group of hard-working first graders at PGE in Franklin, TN! First grade is such a fun grade to teach. They are very eager to learn and so excited to start reading! My school is a Title I school where over 50% of the kids are on free or reduced-price lunches. These kids come from very diverse homes and many of them are English language learners.
I am looking forward to a great year with a group of first graders who are so eager to learn and who I can help develop a love for school.
The students who will directly benefit from this project are six and seven-year-old kids who are very eager to learn and be successful.
My Project
The Osmo is a groundbreaking gaming system that fosters creative thinking and collaborative learning. When paired with an iPad, the Osmo transforms the area in front of the tablet into an interactive environment. The students will use physical objects in the area in front of the tablet to solve puzzles, spell words, and even draw. My students will be able to use the iPad and Osmo at one of our workstations as I work with small groups. They will be able to learn and practice reading and math skills while working collaboratively with their classmates, strengthening essential social skills.
They will expand their creative thinking while learning to work well with others.
