My Students
The students in my classroom are amazing and energetic learners. They are constantly looking for new and exciting ways to learn second grade content. I teach in a nice community outside of Savannah, Ga. From the minute my students walk in my door, I want them to be excited about learning and for them to experience a wonderful day. By creating a fun and engaging classroom, I hope to inspire and educate my students to continue their paths to an excellent education!
My Project
These materials will help me create a space in my classroom for the students to explore, create, and extend critical thinking skills. I would love for my students to be able to create items during their reading or math groups that go beyond the regular paper and pencil. I envision students creating 3-D shapes, movable parts for angles, and buildings using Legos. It is important that the students get to participate in designing the makerspace because they will be utilizing it during the reading and math groups. I want them to feel free to use what they have to create projects that align with our standards but also challenge them in a non standard way.
