My Students
My kindergarteners are naturally curious and come to school eager to learn and positively engage with friends and teachers. They love hands-on, active, and engaging in activities that challenge them. On a daily basis, they are growing personally, socially, and emotionally. Truly, they are our inspiration! Please help me give my students the hands-on tools they need to be problem solvers.
Our student population is diverse and is made up of multiple ethnicities, ENL (English as a New Language), and IEP (Individualized Education Program) students.
Acknowledging struggles and finding different solutions are some of the things that we strive to achieve every day.
My Project
My kindergarteners and their parents are having to work so hard with distance learning due to COVID-19. I can see that my students are adapting to various learning styles and learning situations where they take ownership of their space. Currently, my students are working in a variety of locations in their homes such as dining room tables, sitting on chairs in their living rooms, or sitting or laying on the floor. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit and are more engaged.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
The lap desks will give my students more options for the workspace. They can work in an organized and comfortable manner in any place in the room. Having the additional storage space in the lap desks will give them a place to keep and have accessibility to the materials they need to complete their work. Command hooks and velcro will enable us to keep other materials handy.
