Creative Pre-K Class Needs Art Supplies

My students need construction paper, tempera paint, finger paint, acrylic gems, scissors, wiggle eyes and feathers!

My Students

Our program does not have the funding to provide our students with the art materials they need to explore the arts. We have art materials available to them daily.

We are a class of 13 inner city pre-k students, some of them children with special needs, others are the typically developing role models.

We have ages 3, 4, and 5 years old in one full day Monday through Friday class. We are in a regular public school elementary school building.

My Project

We are asking for paint (we have no blue paint left in our supply - how can we make secondary colors when we are missing a primary color?!), watercolor paints, paper, new scissors (some of our children with special needs need to use the loop scissors), and other art accessories (googly eyes, gems, and feathers!) Many young children come to us never using scissors before. Some of them have difficulty holding regular scissors, so we need to use the loop scissors. This gives them the same types of opportunities as the other children who are able to use scissors.

Our students do not have "art" class like the other grades in our school, we are the "art" class.

We need to be able to have the materials available to them so that they are able to explore all types of art. For many of them, this is their first experience using fingerpaint, or marble painting, gluing feathers on or even using scissors!
