Creative Minds

My students need pens, books and sticky notes to use during reading and writing in science. These items will help them to improve their literacy skills.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic in learning science. Most of them come to the learning environment with an intent to learn but they are faced with adverse conditions which impede their learning. Some of my students do not have the basic needs to facilitate their learning.

I teach a diverse multicultural setting.

Most of my students are poorly skilled and acquire a proficiency level of 1 and 2. My school is a small stem school with approximately 600 students. Programs offered are rich in Science, the Arts, Music, Robotics, Engineering, Dance, Mathematics. Additionally, students get the opportunity to engage in PGC, clubs such as chess, cheer leading, basketball for both male and female.

My Project

The resources ordered will be used to engage my students, improve literacy and inform my instruction. My low level skilled students will engage in color coding, annotation and writing in science. They will learn how to mark the text, identifying keywords, underlining supporting sentences and summarizing the text.

These donations will improve my classroom by giving students the opportunity to be an active participant in their own learning.

Inspire them to learn to take ownership for their own learning. Additionally, they will be able to print their assignments for submission and continue to take active Cornell notes in science. Students lives will be transformed since they are provided with the tools for learning.
