My Students

I serve a PreKindergarten class in a culturally diverse school that includes many backgrounds within Houston ISD. My class size is currently 22 and increasing. Our school has a music program that allows each grade level to explore different forms of music. We are also identified as a Title I school and over half our student receive a reduced or free breakfast and lunch. We also have a population of 25% English Language Learners who are able to enter our bilingual/ESL program.

My early learners love to explore through meaningful play and interact with each other!

My Project

All of my students are early learners who learn through play and using their imagination. I provide several opportunities to do just that in the classroom by creating materials, buying on my own (if I am able to) and borrowing from other teachers. The materials that I have chosen for our classroom are meant to spark that creativity and social development that every child needs and is encourage to have. As a pre-k teacher, I want to be able to give as many opportunities to my students to express themselves in many ways.

The items that I have chosen will help my early learners to draw, paint and explore other art materials to understand what they are thinking can be put on paper.

I really believe these children will change the world; you and I are just here to give them that push and the materials they need to grow as incredible, creative, and critical thinking human beings!
