it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The Creative Minds Club promotes community and self-expression through art! Anyone with a creative spark is welcome to join and share their passions.
As school continues virtually in these difficult times, the student leaders of the Creative Minds club are hard at work trying to get art supplies into everyone's homes.
After our virtual club rush, our group numbers have doubled! Students are craving a creative outlet to separate themselves from the stress of school.
Our club wants to promote the healing power of art and the importance of creating and being creative in our every day lives. Ultimately, we just want to have fun expressing ourselves through art with friends.
My Project
Students will use the materials to create artwork on various themes per week. They will learn new techniques while expressing their individual creativity. Each week, they will create something new that allows them to de-stress and express! Once we get supplies, we will explore color theory and acrylic paint techniques!
At the end of the school year, the club will have a showcase to display the artwork from this year.
We hope to have physical gallery space (if conditions permit), but also will be building a website to showcase the amazing art that students have created during distance learning. We know that our art will showcase the beauty, creativity, and resiliency of our students during this challenging time.
The materials from this fundraiser will be crucial to helping students have the supplies they need to express the art within their hearts!
