My Students

My kindergartners are a delightful group of learners. They love to come to school, express their love for learning and have shown great growth in the short time they have been in a school environment. We especially love to work on strengthening our small motor skills. We use a variety of materials to develop these skills and master the kindergarten standards, such as identifying and writing our letters and numbers. In place of worksheets, we love to use other materials to help us learn.

Many of our families are one paycheck away from being homeless.

My students come from homes with hard working parents who struggle to make ends meet. Many families are one paycheck away from being homeless. Their hardships are real and leave a definite impression on their children. Even with the daily challenges, we love to show off what we have learned in our classroom.

With your donation, I will purchase many items to enhance our learning centers. We use art materials and technology to boost our achievement. I deeply appreciate your generous support.

My Project

My kindergartners need creative materials to help them discover and learn. Art and technology are two ways to develop critical thinking skills which they will use to become engaged in learning. In order to branch out from traditional worksheets these materials are required. We'll use art materials such as twistable markers, paint markers, stickers and bright paper for our writing projects. Learning numbers and letters will come alive with amazing educational counting and alphabet manipulatives, such as Learning Resources Letter Construction Set. We'll use the hand shaped tongs to search for letters and numbers in our sensory tubs filled with aliens, frogs and really big buttons! Solving math problems is so rewarding when you can open a lock with a real key.

We will use the Fisher Price Code-A-Pillar to develop problem solving skills.

This toy requires a great deal of planning and advanced thinking from the children. I have no doubt they will be 100% engaged when they are working with this unique toy.
